Crime Alert - Theft from a Vehicle |
||
|
Dear Residents,
Humberside Police have seen an increase in theft from motor vehicles in the Anlaby Road, Hawthorne Avenue and surrounding streets.
There is no pattern to the incidents and they are occurring throughout the day, evening and night. This is just a polite reminder in attempt to prevent theft from motor vehicles. Always ensure your doors are locked and windows are closed. Avoid leaving valuables such as bags, electronics, wallets or loose change in sight. When possible try and park in well-lit and high footfall areas. Simple precautions can go a long way in keeping your belongings safe.
If you have any information about those committing offences and causing harm within our community please report via 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You don’t have to leave your name and you may even receive a reward. You can also provide information anonymously on the Crimestoppers website
To reduce the risk of your vehicle being broken into, please read through the below advice - When away from Home Park in a busy, well overlooked area. If the car will be there after dark try to find somewhere illuminated
Please also find attached the Police Crime Prevention Handbook which covers a broad range of crime prevention advice.
Thank you
